Vision and Values

Our Vision: “Let Your Light Shine” (Matthew 5:16) 

At The Haven CE Methodist Primary School, our vision is rooted in the belief that every child has the potential to aspire, flourish, and achieve. We are a haven—a safe, nurturing space where children can anchor themselves in calm seas and grow with confidence and purpose. 

We are committed to helping every child reach their God-given potential so that they can let their light shine in the world. This vision is not just a statement—it is a lived experience, developed in collaboration with our governors, staff, and pupils, and embedded in every aspect of school life. 

Our Christian Values 

Our vision is supported by six core Christian values that guide our daily actions and interactions:

Compassion – showing kindness and empathy to others.

Respect – valuing ourselves, others, and the world around us. 

Hope – believing in a positive future and striving towards it.

Justice – promoting fairness and standing up for what is right. 

Courage – facing challenges with strength and determination. 

Responsibility – taking ownership of our actions and learning. 

These values help us live out our founding aim: God in all we do. 

Living the Vision 

To bring our vision to life, we: 

Begin each week with whole school worship, reinforcing our shared commitment. 

Encourage pupils to reflect on the vision and values in class discussions. 

Empower pupils as worship leaders to promote the vision and lead worship across the school. 

Provide symbolic reminders, such as candles, to help children carry the message of “Let Your Light Shine” into their homes and communities. 

Together, we create an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to shine brightly—both in school and beyond.
