Information on the work of East Sussex County Council.

The five East Sussex County Council departments and their main responsibilities are:

  • Adult Social Services – provide social care services for residents over 16, including residential care and sensory care services.
  • Chief Executive’s – responsible for trading standards, register offices, supporting economic regeneration and libraries.
  • Children’s Services – provide social care for people under 16, state education and other childcare services.
  • Corporate Resources – responsible for managing the budget and auditing our finances
  • Transport and Environment – responsible for maintaining roads, providing public transport and managing the local environment.

Both elected representatives (councillors) and paid employees (council officers) work together to supply these services for East Sussex.

We inspect and regulate to achieve excellence in the care of children and young people, and in education and skills for learners of all ages.

Cool Milk at School Ltd (tel: 0800 3897157) operate throughout East Sussex enabling the provision of school milk at break time. The following service is offered at The Haven School:

  • Provision of milk on a parent subscription scheme at approximately 19p a day.
  • Provision of free milk for under 5's.

The Haven Church - www.thehavenchurch.org.uk

The Haven Church is a Methodist/Church of England Local Ecumenical Partnership.

Their aim is to enable people from a non-church background to feel comfortable while exploring the Christian faith. They are very informal, dress is unimportant. Their services are varied to allow for different tastes but we are sure you will find something to suit yours.

They're a mixed bunch of Christians and not-yet Christians, from all walks of life and a variety of backgrounds. They love to welcome visitors and would love for you to join them for church on Sunday.

ChildLine is a service provided by NSPCC.  It may be difficult being a parent, but it is just as difficult being a child!  This website is for children and gives them lots of activities to do.  It also shows them where to get help if they cannot speak to someone they know.
